Banco Bolivariano: from regulatory cost to profitable product
For years, banking notifications were a regulatory requirement and an operating cost. Banco Bolivariano set out to turn them into part of the customer experience, delivering relevant, timely information at every touchpoint.
To make this happen, it put Latinia at the heart of all its notifications and alerts. Not as a delivery tool, but as a real-time decision engine that determines what is sent, through which channel and in what order.
The result: opt-in subscription packages with channel preferences, a fivefold increase in volume and a 40% annual reduction in SMS costs. One in four digital customers subscribed, and the project paid for itself in just nine months.

The challenge
For years, the bank’s notification service was driven by regulation, sending millions of messages a month through high-cost channels. The key question was: are we really communicating, or just complying?
The solution
Opt-in subscription packages: customers choose which notifications they receive and through which channel. Latinia determines the channel, the sequence and the fallback in real time if one channel fails.
The results
Alert volume grew fivefold while keeping the delivery rate above 99%. Annual SMS costs dropped by 40%, and the investment paid for itself by month nine. Ultimately, one in four digital customers subscribed to the paid service.
By the numbers
25% digital customers subscribed
x5 digital customers subscribed
