Latinia premiers in the category of CEP solutions with Alert Engine

Barcelona, August 16th, 2011.- “Beyond strictly informative messages, it was clear to us that, nowadays, it was necessary to start thinking more in terms of business for financial institutions, enabling them to deliver a more compelling and relevant content to their clients, seeking to generate a more attractive dialog for both parties. Based upon this idea has born LIMSP© Alert Engine, a CEP (complex event processing) solution that captures, filters, analyzes and processes, in real-time, up to 2,000 events per second originating from core banking systems, host interfaces, enterprise service bus, legacy environments, or any financial institution card payment scheme, and according to the interests of their clients, extracted from their subscription settings, and from the business interests of the bank, proceed to generate information type multichannel notifications, for business or security, based upon the specific context of each client, service, time and environment”, stated Marc Alcón, Latinia’s CTO.

“On the one hand, through the bus of the bank, millions of events are processed daily as a result of the activity generated, direct or indirectly, by the client of the financial institution, from the entry of a balance, to notices of transfers, going through online payments, to invoices for public utilities, etc. …and on the other hand, that user is subscribed to the different alerting services offered by the institution. Alert Engine reads, explores and analyzes that flow on a permanent basis, and, according to the parameters, characteristics and profiling of the client, it makes decisions in real-time, capturing that raw information and transforming it into a multichannel message, remitting the same to the pertinent solution for delivery that the client has available for each channel, SMS messaging, E-mail, push notifications, etc.…”, continued Alcón.

“The value of Alert Engine is that it allows service start up by just defining the corresponding filter rules, thus enabling the bank to initiate the universal service provision without the need for subscription, anti-fraud warnings for example, or to determine which services or messages are free or which ones not, depending on the quantity of messages generated or sent by that user, or of the total amount of a specific transaction”, summarized the CTO of Latinia.

“By making a simple metaphor: Alert Engine draws from the flow of information generated by the bank, its diverse business logics and various applications, and when it detects a notifiable event, it acts like a grizzly bear when fishing for salmon upriver.
