The year 2017 was marked by new projects with leading financial institutions in Latin America and by the continuation of our initiatives related to technological innovation and sports training.

This article highlights the main corporate milestones of Latinia throughout 2017, including the addition of BancoEstado as a client, our participation in fintech ecosystem events in Latin America, and the evolution of the Latinia Youth Sailing Team project.

The CN Cambrils Latinia Youth Sailing Team ready for the Copa del Rey MAPFRE challenge

The Latinia Youth Sailing Team, promoted by Latinia together with Club Nàutic Cambrils, continued its sporting development by taking part in the Copa del Rey MAPFRE, one of the most important regattas in the international sailing calendar.

The project, focused on training young sailors in the J80 class, reached this competition after previously participating in events such as the World Championship, the Spanish Championship, and the Conde de Godó Trophy.

“After our participation in the World Championship, the Spanish Championship, and the Conde de Godó Trophy in 2016, the Copa del Rey represents a kind of full circle for the project that Latinia and CN Cambrils launched last year aimed at training young J80 sailors,” explained Alejandro Olabarría, Chairman of Latinia.

The team’s crew was made up of young instructors from the club’s Sailing School, who prepared for the competition in the preceding months through training sessions and participation in various local regattas.

Latinia to provide its Notification technology to BancoEstado

Latinia added BancoEstado to its client portfolio in Latin America following the Chilean bank’s acquisition of our Alert Engine and SDP solutions, designed for event management and multichannel notification delivery.

“Chile is a strategic market for Latinia, and BancoEstado is a key reference in the region. With our software, we aim to support the evolution of its multichannel notification offering,” said Daniel Aguilar, Head of Business at Latinia.

From BancoEstado, they highlighted the role of notifications in customer relationships.

“The quality of the relationship we build with the customer will depend on the service experience we deliver through each of the messages we send,” explained Carlos Marcuello, Head of Systems at the bank.

Latinia heads to its 4th FINNOSUMMIT

Latinia participated for the fourth time in FINNOSUMMIT, one of the leading events in the fintech ecosystem in Latin America. The event brought together entrepreneurs, financial institutions, investors, and industry experts to analyze the main technological trends transforming the financial industry.

“Today we can confirm that FINNOSUMMIT has become the main hub for fintech entrepreneurship in the Latin American region,” said Oriol Ros, Marketing Manager at Latinia.

Latinia’s participation in this type of forum is part of our commitment to closely follow technological innovation in the financial sector and bring to our clients the new possibilities offered by notification channels and emerging technologies.
